Obituary

Barbara June (Lewis) Laws was born June 12, 1945 in Salem, Oregon.  She was the 2 nd daughter of Benjamin J. Lewis and Matilda "June" (Drew) Lewis.  Barbara went to her Heavenly home Friday, January 7, 2022 after many years of fighting multiple health issues.

Barbara was married to Ben Campbell in December 1962.  They had four children.

Barbara was always a hard worker, taking pride in her lifelong career as a CMA in many nursing homes, retiring from Southpark Skilled Nursing Facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She always said she felt needed by her patients but more than that, she needed them.  She was a caring and compassionate nurse, mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

On March 18, 1982, Barbara married her childhood friend and lifelong love, Arthur G. Laws.  After her retirement she and Arthur moved home to Kansas to spend their time with family.  Barbara loved flowers, all flowers.  She truly loved the landscaping she and Arthur kept.  He was the caretaker, and Barbara was the appreciative recipient of his labors.  Arthur will forever miss her beautiful smile that could warm up a room.

More than anything, Barbara loved her family.  She was the best momma and very proud grandma "Barbie."  No one was allowed to call her "Barbie" other than her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Recently Barbara was looking forward to going home and seeing family she has not seen in a very long time.  Heaven surely received an angel.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband, Arthur, of their home in Wellington; sons: Jesse Campbell and wife, Christina of Winfield, and Dave Campbell and wife, Kathy of Wellington; daughter, Sherry Jones and husband, Steve of Mulvane; her 13 grandchildren:  Rob (Ashley) Chace, Mystie Chace (Paul), Tym Chace, Chris Chace (Rhonda Whiting), Echo Loreto, Tyler Jones, Kasey Jones, Amber Campbell (James Sciara), Brittany (Matt) Martin, Rachel (Tyler) Decker, Brandon (Brooke) Gandy, Joseph Richards, and Franklin Richards; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Amy Buntjer of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Dan Lewis of Texas; cousin, Mary (Lucky) Haynes of Anthony; her many nieces and nephews and those she called "shirt tail kin."

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ben and June Lewis; stepmother, Irene Lewis; infant sister, Catherine; sister, Dorothy Wisely and her children, Teddie, Brenda, and Connie; and her beloved son, Calvin.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony with Brian Campbell officiating.

Friends may view and register from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
