Andrew Thomas Jayroe was born on December 13, 1983 in Harper, Kansas to Thomas Stephen and Barbara Jean (Ellis) Jayroe.  Harper is where the family made their home.

Having worked at McDonald's in Anthony for some time, Andy had become a manager.  This is where he met Linda Lorraine Hill.  They moved to Wellington in early 2009 and continued to work for McDonald's there.  Andy and Linda were married April 3, 2010 and to this union was born four children: Melanie, Xavier, Kaden, and Dante.

Becoming a CNA and a Home Health Aide, Andy started working in health care, working at Botkin Care and Rehab, Wellington Health and Rehab, and then Sumner Community Hospital.  He loved working at the hospital until it suddenly closed in early 2020.  Back in fast food, Andy went to work for Sonic as a cook.

First and foremost, Andy adored his kids, and they were the most important thing in his life.  He loved to write, was a self-published author, and enjoyed short stories.  Andy spent a number of years and countless hours playing D & D (Dungeons & Dragons) with his friends and was proud of his character, Talon Shadow Crest.  He found science interesting, especially physics and astronomy, and liked his Sci-Fi and Horror on TV and the big screen.  Discovering Buddhism was fitting for Andy as no matter what was going on in his life, he loved to help others and cheer people up.  His humor brought laughter to many.  And anyone who knew him would know it has to be mentioned that you'd rarely find Andy without his Dr. Pepper in his hand, or at least nearby.

Andy passed away suddenly on October 8, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Emergency Department in Wellington, Kansas.  Preceding him in death are his mother, Barbara and maternal grandparents: Joyce Phye, TJ Phye, and Arlene Brancio.  Andy is survived by his four children: Melanie, Xavier, Kaden, and Dante, all of Wellington; father, Tom Jayroe of Eureka Springs, Arkansas: sisters, Kimberly Paul and her husband Mitchell of Mississippi and Amanda Agresto and her husband, Jesse of Eureka Springs; paternal grandparents, James C. and Carol Vincent of Fort Worth, Texas; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers and to assist with expenses, memorial contributions may be made to Andrew Jayroe Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Friends may view and register from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday and Funeral Service is 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, both at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating.  Private family burial will take place at a later time at the Harper Cemetery.
