Amanda Lea Tatro was born on May 25, 1979 in Kiowa, Kansas to Marvin Lee and Gail Lynn (Capps) Tatro. Growing up and going to school in Attica, Kansas. Amanda graduated Attica High School with the class of 1997. Amanda enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She was very active in sports and was the only girl to participate in powerlifting in high school. After high school, she went on to Cowley County Community College.
On April 19, 1999, Amanda married Raymond Pool. Together they had two daughters, Haleigh and Madison. In later years, Amanda found new love with Glen Chattam. Together, they have helped to raise Amanda's son, Dane.
As a loving mother and a genuine friend, Amanda was a generous person. This led her to be a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide. Amanda liked to spend her free time crafting, gardening, painting, and spending time with her loved ones. She liked to go on walks to pick wildflowers and collect unique rocks along the way. Amanda relished in her time spent at the casino. Among those things that described Amanda were caring, animal and nature lover, understanding and down-to-earth.
At the young age of 43, Amanda passed away in Winfield on January 9, 2023. Preceding her in death were her mother, Gail (Capps) Prescott and grandparents, Marvin and Edith Capps. Amanda is survived by her children: Haleigh Pool (Blake Watkins) and Madison Pool (Ethan Smith) both of Arkansas City, Kansas and Marvin Dane Chattam of Winfield; grandson Jaylen Watkins; beloved companion, Glen Chattam of Wilmot, Kansas; father Marvin Tatro of Attica; brother Justin Tatro (Kaitlin) of Attica; grandfather, Aubrey Tatro of Missouri; grandmother Margilee Tatro of Missouri; nieces and nephew: Trevor, Kinley and Bryna Tatro; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Kent Olds officiating. Inurnment follows at the Attica Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Amanda Tatro Memorial Fund to assist the family with funeral expenses and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Homes, 613 W 14th St ~ Harper, Kansas 67058.
