Alma Lou (Billings) Jackson was born July 18, 1936 in Kingman, Kansas, daughter of Calvin and Geneva (Sterling) Billings. She grew up in Wellington, Kansas, and attended Wellington schools.
On June 27, 1955, Alma was united in marriage with Walter Jackson in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They made their home in Anthony, Kansas, where Alma spent her days as a homemaker, raising their family, and Walter owned and operated A-1 Septic Service.
Alma loved crocheting, playing bingo, going camping, reading western books, and playing cards. She was hardheaded, hardworking, and sassy! She always ruled the roost and did her best to keep everyone in line. Her honesty may not have always been appreciated, but she never feared the truth, and the truth is what she spoke.
On April 14, 2022, Alma passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sons: Mark and Calvin; grandson, Chad; and her four siblings.
Alma will be deeply missed by her children: Chris Jackson, Neva Pfister, and Joey Jackson; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony, with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.
Friends may view and register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Alma may be made to Heartland Hospice and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
